It all started when I entered the kitchen for the first time to cook for my mom and sister in law when I was in school. They were too tired to cook our dinner, so I got up and prepared a dal and rolled out “Chapatis” for them. They appreciated and encouraged me to try my hands on cooking. And the journey began. I would often go to the “Gurudwara” and make chapatis there to practice making the perfect “Rotis”, I was nothing in life since i was always a turn off in academics, but I was keen on trying new things and experiment with my own food. As a Punjabi to the core, the food prepared at home was always full of Ghee and rich, I always stood apart and prepared my own “Oil-Free” dish. I think there I learnt the healthy cooking and what kind of experiments one can try with innovative ideas with simple Indian cooking.
And then happened “Masterchef – Kitchen ke superstar” which changed the life completely. I learned, inherited, practiced, adopted and invented new things in the culinary art and one day with immense support and never-ending love, WON the title. I always wanted to make my Parents and brother feel proud of me and finally with god’s grace was able to do that.
